While we do ask for an adoption fee, we do not expect to recover veterinary and other expenses completely. In fact, by the time the animal is ready for placement, we anticipate that the required adoption fee may cover approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of their veterinary bills, on average. All animals coming into rescue receive a veterinary exam, heartworm test, full spectrum of vaccinations, are put on heartworm and flea/tick preventative, and any injuries or illnesses are treated.
Our adoption fee covers the alteration and vaccination of a healthy cat or dog. However we depend on fundraisers and the continued generosity of our supporters to continue our efforts!
